Scenic lakeside celebrations at The Boatshed Karapiro

It was great to be back at The Boatshed Karapiro this season with my regular second shooter Daisy to celebrate with Joanna and Matt, who I met while photographing her sister's wedding last year, so it was nice to see plenty of familiar faces.

The Boatshed is one of those places where the landscape does so much of the work, and it features among our favourite Waikato wedding venues.

We don't know what happened to the doom and gloom forecast of non-stop rain, but we were all so grateful that after the groom's prep we didn't see any rain for the rest of the day! A small miracle we happily embraced to take photos around the lovely venue's gardens and at a beautiful nearby lakefront property.

The evening was filled with entertainment for their guests, with speeches that included multimedia projections, a fun shoe game, sparklers after dark, a well choreographed first dance and a four piece band to continue the party into the night.
