Planning your wedding? Looking for a relaxed, go-with-the-flow photographer with a sense of humour to guide you every step of the way? Someone that makes you feel beautiful and look 100% natural?

With our Platinum package, Hilary or Jasper will be joined by one of our talented second shooters to cover all of the best angles. As you celebrate and spend time with your loved ones, we will tell your unique love story through stunning, unscripted photos.

For your bridal party and couple's shoot, we'll be happy to relax into this moment with you and have a bit of a laugh to help you feel totally at ease. At the same time we're happy to offer guidance for posing to ensure you don't feel stiff or awkward - because let's face it, not everyone loves being in front of the camera!

Let us take those worries away that you'll never look like the couples in our portfolio, because you will! We work with real, everyday people, that are typically doing this for the first time! It's our job to pick the best spots and use the best light, to make you feel at ease, maybe crack a lame joke and then work our magic, so you too can have a little peek on the back of our cameras mid-shoot and say: "Oh wow, I can't believe that's us!" and continue the session with confidence.

Following my dream, I moved here from the Netherlands in 2014 and soon after found the love of my life, Hilary. We now live in beautiful Raglan and get to travel around New Zealand and beyond to tell beautiful stories for our happy couples full time.

With a friendly, easy-going approach we will work together with you to capture candid moments and real emotions.

Photoadventure.co.nz is a business driven by passion.

While working as a Design Director for a creative agency in Auckland, I successfully founded my business - initially teaching landscape photography and image processing to assist enthusiastic photographers to advance their skills.

Through my strong passion for photography, my love to connect with people on a genuine level and the knowledge my wife Hilary and I gained through our professional backgrounds in design and marketing, we decided to expand into the wedding and corporate industries. With Hilary supporting me as a second shooter to capture different angles and beautifully unscripted in-between moments, we quickly gained enough momentum to do what we love full time, and still happily do so to this day.

After the passing of my father I realised that images are much more than just photos. They are a celebration of precious memories to look back on for generations. That is what we strive to deliver.

Why choose us?

We've been doing this for a while! We started the business together and have since photographed over 200 weddings and many engagement shoots, learning and improving along the way.

We have since been recognised within the industry as an award winning business. Most recently taking out the highly contested wedding photography WIN at the 2023 Wedding Industry Awards New Zealand - an achievement we're proud of!

We want you to benefit from our years of experience and be there to help you along the way, with your planning and creating the perfect timeline! For this reason we have decided to limit the amount of weddings to 20 per season.

Who edits the photos?

With our backgrounds in design, we take pride in carefully selecting and editing all photos ourselves, with a timeless feel and without heavy filters which can date. We prefer to show natural colours, to tell a story that is true to the feeling of the day.

We don't leave your photos in the hands of popular AI services, a growing trend that has taken the industry by storm! It would sure be a great way for us to cut costs, free up our valuable time, or shoot more weddings - like so many other photographers out there - but we have looked into this and have personally found this to be beneath our usual standards!
How do we receive our photos?

We will provide you with an online password-protected gallery and email you a download link to your photos in full resolution, without watermarks. You'll be free to print your images and share them around as much as you wish.
How long does it take you to deliver everything?

We understand that you're excited to see the results! Therefore, to keep the momentum for you and your guests, we'll always upload a little sneak-peek to our social channels. Some highlights of your day that you'll no doubt be proud to share!

We promise you all results within 6 weeks from your wedding day, but in reality this is a wait time of around 3 to 4 weeks on average.
Have you photographed at our venue?

Chances are we have! After capturing so many love stories around Auckland and the Waikato regions mainly, we have photographed at the most popular venues around - often on multiple occasions.

That said, we capture many weddings at unknown places, including DIY setups, without needing to organise a site visit beforehand. We are very used to making quick decisions and thinking on our feet to get the best results, keeping in mind the time of year, the weather and the light.

We do get the occasional "Top 10 photos to make sure your photographer gets" checklist after a brides dives into wedding prep articles. It's great to be prepared! Though we have our own checklists and make sure all the classics are there. So, no need to prepare excell sheets. In fact, it can really hinder our creativity on the day! If there are any areas or backdrops you love, we are more than happy to try and make those work for you!

Do you include any prints?

Our packages do not include prints. In this digital age not everyone is after printed images. However, you and everyone you share your link and password with, are able to order beautiful framed, unframed or matted prints straight from your Queensberry gallery.
